Kidbrooke Learning Centre
Welcome to the Kidbrooke Park Learning Centre (KPLC)- we hope this website helps you find the information you need and that it gives you a taste of life at our centre.
Many of our pupils have previously found school a real challenge and it is our mission to help our pupils become independent, lifelong learners who are able to regulate and manage their own feelings and behaviour.
We all want the best for the children that attend our centre. We are passionate about ensuring the experiences of young people and the understanding of their individual needs are at the heart of everything that we do at KPLC.
KPLC staff are dedicated and committed to ensuring that every child at the centre is supported, happy, well cared for and can reach their full potential. The pupils, in turn, reward us with their mutual respect, positive relationships and demonstrate their perseverance and resilience every day.
The centre has been awarded the prestigious ADHD Friendly School award and has achieved the standards for schools set by the Autism Education Trust. KPLC implements Trauma informed practices to assist our pupils as well as having a dedicated on site Trauma and Mental Health Schools Practitioner.
We also know that children achieve more when parents and schools work together. We see the education of our pupils as a partnership between home and schools, and like any partnership, it will only succeed in an atmosphere of mutual trust.
By all of us working together, we hope to give our pupils the chance to develop their skills in a place which fosters tolerance, confidence, understanding, independence, good behaviour and above all, a positive attitude towards school.
